Mai Khao Beach is located just north of Phuket's International Airport, only 10 minutes drive from there. Mai Khao is a part of the Sirinath National Park, which also includes Nai Yang Beach and Nai Thon Beach. In 1981 this area was declared a national park to protect the Olive Ridley Sea Turtles that lay their eggs here from November to February.

There is a few tourist developments and little tourist business at Mai Khao Beach except for the JW Marriott Resort & Spa. However, this area is increasing of amount of high end property developments. If you really want to get away from it all, the lonely Mai Khao Beach is the best beach for you.
